Verifying the installation

Sometimes, issues can occur when downloading game updates. This can manifest as not being able to start the game or as odd graphical issues, such as garbled textures, pixelated overlays, or missing character models or visual effects. If you're experiencing anything like this, please verify your installation through the game’s launcher to replace missing or corrupted files. You may also need to restart your system so the changes will be taken into account.

On Steam:

  • Go to your Steam Library
  • Right-click on the game
  • Go to Properties
  • Click on Local Files
  • Click on Verify integrity of Game Files
  • When loading is over, launch the game

Graphics drivers

Outdated graphics drivers can lead to the game crashing or running poorly. To prevent these issues so please make sure that you have the latest graphic drivers are up to date. These can be downloaded from the card manufacturer's website:

If you're not sure which type of graphics card you have, on Windows:

  • Open the Start menu
  • Type "Device Manager"
  • Press Enter.
  • In the Device Manager window, your graphics card should be listed under "Display Adapters".

Launch Issues

  • If you have a crash and don't find anything on the dedicated folder, there's another solution with  Event viewer on Windows
  • Try downloading and installing the latest Visual C++ redistributable, as there's a chance it hasn't been installed correctly.
  • Try running the launcher in Administrator mode. Exit the launcher if it's already running, locate its .exe file, right-click on it, and select "Run as Administrator"
  • You can also perform a Clean boot if you have trouble at launch on PC Game pass or Steam

Performance issues

  • Ensure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card
  • If you have Nvidia G-Sync or AMD FreeSync, please disable them and turn on AMD Anti-Lag if available
  • Close all other running programs
  • If available, in your graphics device control panel, set "Maximum Performance Priority" and/or "Fast VSync"
  • Disable any overlays, e.g. Steam, Epic, GeForce, etc.
  • If you have an Nvidia graphics card, follow this guide to ensure the game is using that card and not your onboard Intel card.

The controller isn't recognized in-game

  • Try to activate steam input, here's the path: Library => right-click on the game => Properties=> Controller => Enable steam input.
  • If you purchased the game through Steam, try enabling Steam Big Picture mode, ensure that the controller is recognized there, and enable any specific support settings for your model of controller. If you didn't purchase the game through Steam, you can add it to your Steam Library as a non-Steam game. Once you've done this, you can launch the game with Steam Big Picture mode active. Steam will also apply updated controller input handling.
  • If you're using a Bluetooth/wireless controller, try switching to a wired controller, if you have one available.
  • Disconnect any unused controllers that may be plugged in

Ensure that there are no programs running that may interfere with Steam

If you are encountering issues or poor performance, you may want to check if you have any applications/programs running that potentially, negatively affecting Steam. Please visit Steam Support's guide for more information on this.

PLAYSTATION 4 / PS5

Check and update your game

Outdated versions of the game may contain unpatched bugs and will not allow you to play or connect to servers with the updated version of the game. Please make sure your game has been updated to the latest version. In general, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles will automatically download updates to your games if you are connected to the Internet. However, if the automatic download feature is disabled, you will need to download these updates manually. Please refer to the PlayStation Support article to set up automatic updates for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.

Crash with error "CE-34878-0".

CE-34878-0 is a general error, and the message appears when the running application or game has crashed. Please refer to the PlayStation support troubleshooting guide for this problem.

Game troubleshooting on Nintendo Switch

If you encounter any issues while playing a game, digital or otherwise, on the Nintendo Switch, we recommend that you consult the Nintendo Support Troubleshooting Guide for steps to resolve most issues with games on the system.

Check and update your game

Outdated versions of the game may have unpatched bugs. Please make sure your game has been updated to the latest version. Generally, the Nintendo Switch will automatically download updates to your games if you are connected to the Internet. However, if automatic downloading is disabled, you should be able to set it up for your system (or manually update the game) by following the Nintendo support guide.

Moving your game installation

If you're experiencing crashes or errors, it may help to move your game installation from your Switch's internal memory to a MicroSD card, or vice versa.

Internal memory/free space on the Nintendo Switch

If you're experiencing crashes or errors and your internal memory (or where your game is installed) is full or very low, it may be helpful to try to free up some more space when you try to run the game.
